ARE YOU INTERESTED IN RADIO-CONTROLLED MODELS?

If you live in the Valley area, Valley R/C is the Model Club to join. Valley R/C Model Club, Inc. was formed in 1965 to foster, expand, and perpetuate the practice of safe R/C modeling and the spirit of good fellowship among all modelers. VRCMC is an Academy of Model Aeronautics chartered radio control club. Our primary interest is flying model airplanes and helicopters.Some members also enjoy R/C cars and boats. Our membership is comprised of people of all ages and professions.

A bulletin board of Club activities is posted at our flying site in Round Top Park south of Athens, PA.

Contrary to much advertising, flying R/C aircraft is not a ‘buy today – fly tomorrow’ hobby. We can help you get a good start on a fun filled sport. Members will share knowledge and help you in the selection, assembly and flying of your first model.

Guests are always welcome at our bi-monthly meetings and at our flying field in Round Top Park,Sayre,Pa..

Local News…….Valley R/C Car Group Is Now Active !

Happy Mothers Day !   There is an Indoor R/C Car Group running events in the old Millard Dairy Bar building just south of the Rt 220 turn to Round Top. The Motts Restaurant was located in the same spot but has recently closed. The Track is  located off Rt 220 south of Sunoco Gas Station.

 Horseheads NY Arnot Mall R/C Plane Show is Easter Saturday – April 7. See below info & set up instructions.
Any Valley R/C Members willing to man a table or two please hit reply and let me know before 4/7. It is a super easy way to promote our HOBBY and VALLEY CLUB. Bring your fav Plane/Heli or two. Heck, your better half may even want to go to the mall with you. That would be a Win/Win and maybe a couple brownie points !  PLUS- show location is near an Ice Cream Store.

VRCMC Banquet Information

Banquet Date is Saturday – Feb 18.
Time is 6:30 Social and 7pm Buffet Dinner at The Rail House on Broad Street in Waverly, NY.
We will be in the Banquet Room to the right of the restaurant.
We will have a Cash Bar set up in the room.
Buffet Meal Cost is $ 19 per person paid that night. This included Tax and Tip.

Winter Flying Site

VRCMC  has obtained permission to use the Valley Soccer field on Wilawana Rd. as its outdoor winter flying site….usually @ 1 p.m. on Sunday’s… if there are

construction or housing trailers parked close to the field there will be no flying

Valley R/C Indoor Flying – Tuesday – Dec. 13 at Athens Lynch Bustin Elementary School

            
                                     Valley R/C Model Club Inc – Sayre, PA has reserved and insured the Athens Lynch Bustin Elementary School Gym
                                                                                    on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday in October 2011 thru March 2012.
Flying time is 7pm to 9pm. The school is located off from Pennsylvania Ave across from the Athens High School Football Stadium.
 
AMA is required and all common sense safety rules apply. Make sure no LiPo charging is done on the wooden floor or other flammable objects.
110V is available for chargers and glue guns. Cost is $5 per session or $15 for the season. Just like your local hobby shop – payments of  $5 each are accepted.
Rubber powered Free Flight planes are also welcome. We can ‘take turns’ with different venues if needed. The main goal is Fun and Flying – in that order.

Alliger’s House of Wings on Spring Street in Sayre will be the Fueling Station and Debriefing Session before the flying missions – be there at 6pm.
